Historical Profile
Power Delivery Consultants, Inc. was formed in 1992
by engineers seeking to provide the industry with an independent source of
consulting services in several areas:
- Electric power cable system design and analysis,
and support for procurement, quality control, installation, and
O&M - for voltages from 5 kV to 500 kV, and for both land and
submarine cables
- Research into more efficient and cost-effective
operation of cable systems
- Design of electrical testing facilities
- Magnetic field analysis
- Specialized software to optimize cable systems
- Training in each of these areas
In addition, the firm's engineers have been major
contributors to industry technical organizations, and have published almost 100
papers, articles, and books relating to underground cable systems and associated
areas.
Offices were initially established in Ballston Lake,
New York, and Wilmerding, Pennsylvania. A third office was opened in
Shrewsbury, Massachusetts, in 1993.
PDC has provided services to more than 75 clients,
for projects ranging from a few manhours, to projects having a value over a half
million dollars.
